Common questions
What is the right age to start braces?
Most fixed-brace treatment begins once the permanent teeth are largely in place, commonly in the early teens. Some bite and habit problems benefit from earlier growth-guidance treatment, which is why an assessment around age 8–10 is useful even if treatment is not started then.
Are clear aligners as effective as braces?
For many crowding and spacing cases, yes — provided they are worn for the prescribed number of hours a day. Certain complex skeletal and rotation problems are still handled more predictably with fixed appliances, and your orthodontist will say plainly which category your case falls into.
Can adults have orthodontic treatment?
