Editorial & review policy
How these health guides are written and reviewed
Dental information is health information, so it should say who wrote it, who checked it and when. This page sets out exactly that for every article in our health library.
Our principles
- Written in-house, by the people who treat it
- Every guide is drafted from the clinical practice of this hospital — the way we actually assess, image, treat and follow up in our own operatories. Nothing is syndicated or bought in.
- Reviewed by the consultant who owns that speciality
- Each category of the library is assigned to the consultant who leads that department here. Their name and the review date appear on every article in that category, and link to their profile.
- No invented facts
- We do not publish statistics, success rates, citations or prices we cannot stand behind. Where a figure depends on your case, the guide says so instead of inventing a number.
- Prices are published, not implied
- Cost ranges in our guides come from the hospital's own published rate list, and are the same figures the front desk quotes.
- Guides are not a diagnosis
- These pages explain what a condition usually is and how it is usually managed. They cannot examine you. Anything urgent — spreading swelling, difficulty swallowing or breathing, trauma, uncontrolled bleeding — needs same-day care, not reading.
- Corrections
- If you believe something on these pages is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will check it against current practice and correct or remove it.

The reviewer named here is the same name printed on every article in that category, with the date that category was last checked.
