How a full-arch case is staged
Planning starts with CBCT of both jaws and a digital scan of the existing bite. Where teeth are still present but unsalvageable, extraction, implant placement and a fixed temporary bridge are often completed in the same sitting, so you do not leave without teeth.
After three to six months of integration, the definitive prosthesis is made — acrylic-titanium hybrid or full zirconia depending on your bite forces, aesthetics and budget. Every stage, including the number of visits, is written down before treatment begins.
When four implants are not enough
All-on-4 works well in a specific anatomy: adequate anterior bone and moderate bite force. Heavy bruxism, a fully resorbed maxilla or a long span often needs six fixtures, and severely resorbed upper jaws may need zygomatic implants anchored in the cheekbone.

- Will I be without teeth at any point?
- In most full-arch cases a fixed temporary bridge is placed on the day of surgery, so you leave with teeth. Where the bone will not allow immediate loading, a temporary removable prosthesis is provided until the fixed one can be fitted.
- How do fixed implants compare with dentures?
- Fixed implant bridges do not move, preserve jawbone, and restore roughly ninety per cent of natural chewing force. Dentures cost far less, need no surgery, and are the right answer for some patients — we will tell you plainly which category you are in.
