When a single tooth is lost, the two options are an implant or a three-unit bridge. A bridge requires the healthy teeth on either side to be cut down to stumps to carry crowns. An implant replaces only the tooth that is missing, and leaves everything else exactly as it is.
The implant is a titanium fixture placed into the jawbone at the site of the missing root. Once it has integrated with bone, a custom crown is fitted onto it. From the outside it looks and functions like the tooth that was lost.
Why the bone matters more than the gap
The jawbone around a tooth root only stays dense while a root is loading it. Within the first year of losing a tooth, roughly a quarter of the bone width at that site disappears, and it keeps receding slowly after that. This is why a gap left for five years is a harder implant case than a gap left for five months.
Where bone has already been lost, we rebuild the site with a graft either before or at the time of implant placement. A CBCT scan tells us which of these applies before you commit to anything, so the plan and the cost do not change midway.
Immediate placement after extraction
In selected cases — a fractured tooth with intact surrounding bone and no active infection — the implant can be placed in the same appointment as the extraction. This preserves the socket, reduces the total treatment time and avoids a second surgical visit.
It is not appropriate for every case, and we will say so plainly when it is not. An implant placed into an infected or thin site to save a visit is a false economy.
Front teeth are a different discipline
A single implant in the smile zone has to match the neighbouring tooth in colour, translucency, emergence angle and gum contour. That is an aesthetic problem as much as a surgical one, which is why our surgeon and our smile-design lead plan front-tooth implants together.
We shape the gum with a temporary crown during healing so that the final crown emerges from a natural-looking gum line rather than a flat one.
What your treatment journey looks like
- Step 1Consultation & CBCT
3D scan of the site, bone assessment and a written plan with the total cost.
- Step 2Implant placement
A 30–45 minute procedure under local anaesthesia, usually with a guided surgical stent.
- Step 3Integration
Three to four months for bone to fuse to the fixture, with a temporary tooth if it shows.
- Step 4Final crown
Digital scan, custom crown, and a bite check so the implant loads correctly.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a single implant cost in Jaipur?
Including the fixture, abutment and crown, a single implant commonly falls between ₹25,000 and ₹60,000 depending on the implant system and crown material. Grafting, if needed, is quoted separately and only after a CBCT scan.
Is an implant better than a bridge?
In most single-tooth cases yes, because it preserves the neighbouring teeth and the bone. A bridge remains a reasonable choice when the adjacent teeth already need crowns for other reasons.
Will anyone be able to tell?
A well-made implant crown in the front of the mouth is generally indistinguishable from a natural tooth. Shade, texture and gum contour are all matched during the temporary phase.
Single Tooth Implant in a hospital setting, not a single chair
Most dental care in Jaipur is delivered from single-chair clinics. The difference shows up when a case needs bone work, sedation, inpatient monitoring or a second speciality on the same day.

Who treats you, and what stands behind it
Patients travelling from Jaipur are seen by the specialist whose field the problem sits in — not by whoever is free. Every plan is imaged, written down and costed before treatment begins.
Leads the surgical and implant service — single-tooth to full-arch and zygomatic rehabilitation, impacted third molars, cysts, jaw pathology and facial trauma, all planned on CBCT before surgery.
Handles crowns, veneers, full-mouth rehabilitation and implant prosthetics, designed digitally and milled on the in-house CAD/CAM unit for shade and fit accuracy.
Treats painful, previously failed and calcified canals under a dental operating microscope, including retreatment and apical surgery where a tooth is worth saving.
Sterilisation, records and patient-safety protocols independently audited — rare in dentistry.
