A veneer is a thin ceramic shell bonded to the front of a tooth. It corrects colour that whitening cannot shift, chipped edges, small gaps, and teeth that are slightly out of line — without the full coverage a crown requires.

The most important thing about veneer treatment is what happens before the drill: a digital design and a trial smile placed over your own teeth, so you approve the shape and length while everything is still reversible.

Veneers are not always the right answer

Where teeth are significantly crowded or rotated, veneering them means removing a great deal of healthy enamel to make them look straight. Aligners first, veneers afterwards — if still needed — is the more conservative sequence, and often reduces the number of veneers required.

Similarly, if discolouration is uniform and mild, whitening or composite bonding may achieve what you want at a fraction of the cost and with no irreversible preparation.

How much tooth is removed

A minimal-prep veneer requires around 0.3 to 0.5 mm of enamel reduction — considerably less than a crown, and confined to enamel wherever possible, which is what allows the bond to be durable.

No-prep veneers exist and are genuinely no-prep only in specific situations: small teeth, spacing, or teeth already set back in the arch. We will tell you which category yours falls into rather than promising no-prep as a marketing line.

Living with veneers

Ceramic does not stain the way natural enamel does, but the underlying tooth and gum still need daily care. Veneers do not make you immune to decay or gum disease at the margins.

If you grind at night, a nightguard is not optional. Fracture from bruxism is the most common reason a veneer case fails early.

What your treatment journey looks like

  1. Step 1
    Smile analysis

Photographs, video, shade mapping and a discussion of exactly what bothers you.

  2. Step 2
    Digital design

A digital mock-up of the proposed smile, refined with you before treatment.

  3. Step 3
    Trial smile

The design placed temporarily on your teeth so you can approve the final shape.

  4. Step 4
    Preparation & bonding

Minimal preparation, temporaries, then final ceramics bonded and polished.

Frequently asked questions

How much do veneers cost in Jaipur?

Per tooth, porcelain veneers commonly range from about ₹12,000 to ₹25,000 depending on the ceramic system. Composite veneers are considerably cheaper but have a shorter lifespan.

How many veneers will I need?

It depends on how wide your smile is when you laugh. Six to eight upper teeth is the most common range; four is sometimes enough when only the front teeth show.

Do veneers damage the teeth?

Minimal-prep veneers remove a small amount of enamel and the treatment is not reversible, but with correct bonding and maintenance the underlying tooth remains healthy for decades.

Why this matters for your case

Porcelain Veneers in a hospital setting, not a single chair

Most dental care in Jaipur is delivered from single-chair clinics. The difference shows up when a case needs bone work, sedation, inpatient monitoring or a second speciality on the same day.
